Does Kaiser of Georgia

Hi everyone......does anyone know if Kaiser of Georgia covers the Gastric Sleeve.  Thanks!

As far as I know, (from friends)  Kaiser is a real pain in regards to any WLS.  Best thing to do would be to find out if your employer includes it in THEIR policy and then contact Kaiser in regards to why type of WLS they cover and requirements for approval.  Best wishes to you!

Gwen.  Talk to D. Macik's office.  Triffany is great at this stuff.  She know just *****quires what and what it will take for her to get your approval.  I heard my insurance BCBS Federal didn't approval the sleeve but they did.  Linda

Yes, Kaiser pays for it. I just had the sleeve done by Dr. Macik on 11/5/08. I am a fed employee & you have to go through the visits with the Dietician & the Therapist, but you can get the VSG.

Thank you so much....I was about to be disappointed if they didn't cover VSG.  I did not want the RNY and definantley did not want the LapBand.  Talking about bandster hell!  How are you doing since you have had your surgery and how did like Dr. Macik.......congrats on your surgery.  Hope you are doing well.

Hi - I'm a fed employee too.  Dr. Macik is doing my surgery on 12/3.  Did you go to Northside.  Tell me know it went?  Anything I should know about?  What agency do you work for?

Thank you so much......I called Maciks office and his office says, not to worry!  How long have you been waiting for surgery, and who did you see for psych and how long did you have to see them.  Did Macik talk you into the sleeve......thanks for you help!  Congradulations on your approval.......

Hi Gwen.  I talked to my friend I told you about and yes she saw the same psch (Anne).  She said she was a little rough the first couple of times but then she was OK.  She said it didn't turn out so bad going to see her.
